Which hospice providers have offices in Hampton Roads, Virginia?

The CMS hospice file lists 25 Medicare-certified hospices with an office address in our 13 localities as of October 28, 2026. Hospice care goes to the patient, whether that is a house in Pungo, an assisted living apartment or a nursing home room.

Medicare's hospice benefit covers the team, medications and equipment related to the terminal illness, but not room and board in a facility. Virginia's Office of Licensure and Certification licenses hospices and takes complaints at 1-800-955-1819.

Can a Virginia assisted living resident receive hospice care?

Yes. A hospice agency can serve a resident inside an assisted living facility, and Virginia's admission limits make room for some hospice-related care, but the facility must still be able to meet the resident's needs under its license.
